The event that was held between September 7th-10th , 2023, at Conrad Downtown New York was an unforgettable experience for all. This event was the must-attend event of the year with many runways, multiple vendor spaces and many thrilling events. This event that kicks off fashion month had some interesting results.
During New York Fashion Week, fashion related disasters always occur and catch the attention of many people. A conflict everyone was shocked about at this year’s Fashion Week was the “Youtube Prankster” who walked on the runway wearing a plastic bag, pink shorts and a shower cap. This prank made some furious whilst some people cheered for the 21 year old Fred Beyer while he walked down the ramp at an event held by Social Media Agency creators inc at New York Fashion Week. The audience wasn’t quite suspicious but towards the end of his walk a security guard caught him and dragged him away. This left the audience so stunned that they had to cover their mouths from shock.
Another very important highlight of this year’s New York Fashion Week was many OG supermodels making comebacks ; Bringing back the 90’s! A few recognizable supermodels from the ‘90s made shocking appearances this Fashion Week season. For the release of her Naomi Campbell X PrettyLittleLiars Collection Naomi Campbell took the role of a designer. Christy Turlington concluded the Ralph Lauren show wearing a mesmerizing one-shoulder gold dress. Jodie Turner-Smith, Jasmine Tookes and Joan Small attended the star studded celebration of J Crew’s 40th anniversary before the beginning of Fashion Week.
As we all know artificial intelligence is slowly taking over the world. All of the industries tend to absorb AI in some way. AI has also found its way into fashion now. One of the largest jumps of the fashion industry is the first ever AI fashion show which was held in New York City. Over 400 fashion designers participated in the innovative event that was held by the firm Mason Meta in collaboration with e-commerce. Visitors at Spring Studios in Soho were able to experience the virtual designs as they were displayed on 24 screens! The designers used advanced AI tools to produce each collection. The founder of Maison Meta, Cyril Foiret also states that the fashion week is a competition too where the contestants will be judged twice. According to Foiret, the purpose of fashion week is to urge designers to look toward the future and support AI in the fashion industry.
